Towards zero waste! We need to look at waste differently and your feedback will help.

Towards Zero Waste

Towards zero waste! We need to look at  waste differently and your feedback will help Council develop  new ways of managing and reusing materials that we would normally simply have thrown away. As a whole community we have to avoid creating rubbish, and recover and reuse as much material as we can.

There is simply no time to waste! Council would like to understand what you know about waste, how important it is to you and what you do in your household…. so please get involved and have your say today.

Jack Shanahan Reserve (Dulwich Hill Skate Park ) will be upgraded in 2013. Have your say!

Skate Jack Shanahan Park

The Jack Shanahan Reserve, widely known as the Dulwich Hill Skate Park, will be upgraded in 2013. Council consulted the community late last year and used the feedback to develop concept plans.

Further comment is now sought on the following proposed changes to the tennis court and basketball court.

  • Creation of a multi-use court by installing a basketball hoop and line-markings on the existing tennis court
  • Creation of a new street skate area in place of the existing basketball court

We seek your advice, knowledge and ideas on verge gardens and sustainable streets.

Camperdown Verge Garden

In direct response to considerable community interest and grass-roots activism, Marrickville Council has adopted a new approach to verge management and maintenance. Verges, also known as nature-strips are important areas of public land that have the potential to provide ecosystem services and help create more liveable spaces.

An ongoing process of collaboration with the community to manage and maintain footpath gardens will see more sustainable streetscapes emerge.

Your knowledge, advice and feedback is important and we would like to hear from you!
