Q. Why did Council prepare a new Community Strategic Plan?
Council prepared a draft Community Strategic Plan in response to changes to legislation requiring all councils to address and develop an Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework. This meant that all NSW councils need to prepare a Community Strategic Plan, a Workforce Plan, an Asset Management Plan and a Long Term Financial Plan. In adition to this, and more importantly, Council wants to ensure that its planning and reporting initiatives are relevant, accountable and make a difference to the community.
Q. What other plans will Council be producing?
As part of the new Integrated Planning and Reporting requirements, Council has or is in the process of producing a Long Term Financial Plan, an Assets Management Plan and a Workforce Plan.
These Plans will be integrated and support eachother in achieveing the best outcomes for the Marrickville community.
Q. Who was involved in the process?
The Community Strategic Plan was based on the input and direction provided by elected Councillors, Council management and other staff, local residents, advisory committees, community groups, local businesses, and a vast range of community partners such as local and regional service providers, and state government bodies.
Q. How was/or will the feedback I provide be used?
Council is serious about your involvement in developing a vision for our community and urges you to take this opportunity to make a difference. All feedback received via this forum and other consultation mechanisms was/or will be presented to Council for consideration and incorporated into the new Community Strategic Plan where possible.
Q. What do you mean when you refer to Marrickville?
Marrickville refers to our Local Government Area or what you might refer to as your local council area. This area is made up of the following suburbs: Marrickville, Dulwich Hill, Lewisham, Petersham, Stanmore, Enmore, Tempe, Sydenham, St.Peters and parts of Camperdown and Newtown.
